Defy no service

Bought a Defy fridge from Tafelberg Furnishers 5 years ago while busy building house. Fridge was working for 4 years, then stopped. Got somebody to come and have look, they could not put gas in because all the pipes were rusted. Never ever will I buy any Defy appliance again. There is no after sales service. Must one buy a fridge every 4 years???
