Defy Likes Losing Money on Unnecessary Replacement Parts
I hope Defy likes losing money because they don't have technicians, they have part exchangers. I purchased a dishwasher in 2023, so it's still under warranty. For the second time in less than 2 years, I've had to call out a so-called "technician." The first time was bad, but this time has been worse. I logged a fault more than 3 weeks ago because the bottom tray of dishes isn't coming out clean. The tech showed up after a week and had (and still has) zero idea about how our machine works. Even though he was shown a schematic drawing of the internals and told by someone who's qualified to know what's going on that the mechanical device that directs the water between the top and bottom washing propellers is no longer functioning, he was adamant our machine isn't built the way the diagram shows and it simply needed a new bottom spray arm. He never opened the dishwasher to check the internals at all. Fine, we'll play this his way. We waited nearly two weeks for the replacement arm. Surprise, it didn't solve the problem. After poor communication by both customer service and the technician that consisted of canned responses, we've now been told he has ordered a new wash pump we don't need. He says the existing pump stops working if it gets too hot. If that is the case, both the top and bottom spray arms wouldn't work properly. At this point, I don't care if Defy ends up replacing my entire machine part by part under the warranty. The warranty is the only reason I haven't had this sorted out privately. To say that I will never buy another Defy product or recommend Defy products to anyone ever again is an understatement. If this problem isn't solved soon, I will be lodging a complaint with the NCC.
