Defy ***** and Makro their accomplice

Defy ***** and Makro silverlakes their accomplice On 25 May 2022, defy responded to my post about their defective glass stove top and apologised, also indicating the matter will be escalated to the relevant person. Over 2 months later, after I demand a response through Makro, Defy backtracks and say they rejected the warranty on the stove top. This is a lie because they informed Makro they will repair the stove top and are awaiting the parts. Now over two months later Defy changes their original decision to repair and says that the warranty is rejected and that I was notified! This is disgusting and unfair retail practice. Defy does not care about customers only their money and sell us defective goods and does not take accountability for their defects.PLEASE do not buy a defy glass stove top or any defy products because they will do anything not to honour their so called warranty!! I have no stove and at a financial loss of R6000, not to mention the cost of the electrician and carpenter removing the defective stove top. I have a Bosch glass top stove in my holiday home in Gordon’s Bay, Cape Town, it has lasted over 3 years because that is durability. Maybe Defy should get some tips from Bosch on matters of durability and customer service mannerisms. Never again will I buy anything from defy, you definitely can’t rely on them. Defy conveyed their decision to Makro silverlakes, Sindiswa, but today when I queried it, it seemed as if I was living in an alternate universe because Makro did not stand by me as their customer even though Defy said they would repair it. To make matters worse Ms Karin James, merchandise manager at Makro silverlakes in a cold and ‘tough luck to you’ attitude said it was strange that Defy would say they would repair it since it was a cracked glass top. I nor Ms James is qualified to repair these things so it was an uninformed comment.Makro silverlakes stop protecting your suppliers who sell defective goods and have more consideration for your customers! R6000 is a lot of money to spend on a stove top that last little over 6 months. Please buy from a retailer who cares about their customers and not see us as a fast buck!!
