DEFY HAS NO SUPPORT FOR AIRCONDITIONERS

In Jan 2016, I bought a Defy airconditioner from Makro. While it was on special, I realised quickly afterwards that paying for installation separately resulted in it being R1000 more in total price than getting a better brand from aircon specialists who install it and support it themselves. The Defy unit has never worked properly. The original installers warned me about the brand but went ahead and installed it anyway. Since then, they came back twice to regas it within a space of about 3 months due to it losing gas and not turning on as a result. All piping was checked for leaks to make sure it wasn't the piping. We subsequently had 3 other aircons (not Defy) installed at our house which were cheaper and had a 5 year guarantee instead of the 2 year from Defy. That installer also looked at the Defy machine and said that it is faulty. It has been EXTREMELY difficult to get hold of Defy support telephonically and the single time that they have answered their phone, they just pass the buck and blame the installer, telling me to get additional information (which will cost me money) to prove that it is faulty.
