Defy endangers users
I just moved into a house with a Defy electric oven (slimline 600SE) and all the markings have rubbed off and there are no markings etched into the surface - either a design flaw or an intended way of cutting costs at the expense of user safety. One cannot safely use an oven without those markings as they literally indicate the temperature and settings. This is a very serious safety hazard and I was refused any assistance by Defy to re-mark it - told to hire a technician with exorbitant rates to "assess the problem". The problem is blatantly clear and it renders the oven dangerous to use. This is a literal safety concern and Defy is trying to make more money off it!

17 Aug 2023, 15:14I now see very clearly why this company has almost 2000 1-star negative reviews on this site alone. I've just received a call from the rudest, most apathetic, customer service agent that you must have on staff. She literally kept speaking about spare parts when I made it very clear that I don't need spare parts. All I need is a stencil/decal/sticker/paper guide to correctly and accurately re-mark the front panel of the oven so that it can be used safely. It is impossible to mark the temperature without a stencil or guide because it is not notched like the setting selector. If you don't have such a stencil or guide to provide to customers of your severely flawed oven, then you need to create one to prevent law suits from users who have suffered harm or damage due to your appliances not being able to be used safely. You'd think I'm asking for the impossible instead of a simple guide/template/stencil that can literally just be emailed to customer affected by your hazardly dangerous appliances. The absolute lack of accountability or assistance from this company is shocking. And please, ensure that your agents are able to speak the languages of the customers they are calling - it is not unreasonable to expect agents to be able to understand what customers are saying and to not be threatened when you ask to speak to someone who can understand your language.
