Defy - defective Stove or the quality Defy now makes?

I bought a Defy Stove top in April 2021. At the end of May, a crack appeared right across the stove. I contacted Defy who told me that because the warranty ended in April 2023 they would not assist me. Either I bought a defective stove, or this is the quality that Defy now makes. I won't risk buying Defy again.
