Defy abuse their contractors and clients.

Don't do business with Defy. Defy is really and truly a pathetic company and their products are just as bad. I have a Defy stove and which is fairly old and I have had issues with it and Defy came out in the past a few times to fix the stove. This last round they sent their technician to my home who ended up damaging my kitchen floor. I called Defy and Jan van Zyl a manager told me to get a quote to repair the damages. I sent them a quote and he then just referred me back to the technician to come back and fix my floor. I later learned the technician is not a defy employee but a contractor for them which means Defy still carrier liability. This technician doesn't have public liability cover, defective workmanship or even detective product cover. A month a half later I still don't have my floor fixed and this contractor who struggling to survive is now exploited by a big company like Defy to pay for the damages out of his own pocket. So doesn't Defy have insurance against events like this. Imagine there was a much bigger loss then there will be a endless battle about who will have to pay for the damages. Secondly I also had a Defy fridge which was about 7 years old that gave me endless trouble. Due to this recent bad experience with Defy I decided not to buy a Defy fridge and bought a Bosch stand up fridge instead. I will never buy Defy again. I don't trust them and their products don't seem to be reliable and they just don''t care about after sales service. What I can assure Defy is that if my floor is not repaired properly and professionally within this next month I will escalate this matter further. How can a big company like not a proper insurance in place for their contractors? THIS IS SHOCKING. Never let any technician into your house until they can verify that they have insurance in place to cover damages that they might cause whilst s working at your home. To conclude with I know this was the technicians mistake when he damaged my floor but he represents DEFY and therefore I feel DEFY should resolve this problem easily and without hassles.
