Defy

I have received the most appalling service from Defy after Makro forwarded my details to them (22/02/2024 - 4 weeks after purchase) regarding a fridge I purchased on 21/01/2024 at Makro, Woodmead. I was informed by Makro that they booked a service call for my Defy 247L Bottom Fridge Freezer. The correspondence stated that “It usually takes 72 working hours for the technicians to arrange the appointment and call out and that to follow up, please contact Defy at *** and they will be able to update you accordingly.”

I have received no call from Defy and after numerous calls from me to them they tell me that on their side it is logged that I said “I was unavailable” or they could not reach me and rescheduled. Nobody is wanting to take responsibility but rather the blame is being put on me. My last call to Defy was on Friday, 7 March 2024 and I was told I would get a call before the end of day from the technicians; it is now 12 March 2024 and I have received no call as yet.

My fridge is less than 2 months old to date and it has stopped working for 2 weeks now. The temperature is warm and it is making loud sounds. My food has all gone bad and there is a bad odour lingering.

Defy does not care and could not be bothered to assist with a brand new fridge bought from a reputable store. Makro continues to refer me to Defy and I have therefore not found any resolve in regard to my fridge

I am honestly defeated and fed -up because I have followed due process. Clearly client satisfaction is not of importance and they are willing to make excuses in order to not assist.
