Can't rely on Defy

Defy's slogan 'Rely on Defy' is very far removed from the reality of their service centre. Our Defy fridge and freezer started defrosting and was not able to freeze almost a year ago - the fridge part still worked but the freezer packed up. As it was quite a pricy model and had the convenience of a water and ice dispenser on the freezer door, we decided to contact Defy Service Centre as they surely had the experts of their products working there - or so we thought. After a month they returned the freezer assuring us that the problem had been fixed, however, all of a sudden the water and ice dispenser did not work, and there were numerous small dents on the side of the freezer. After a week the freezer packed up again, and was once again whisked off to the service centre. They fixed the dispenser partially and when returning it after a month, the interior light did not work, and it started defrosting again after a week. This exercise has now been repeated 4 or 5 times - every time the stretches between Defy collecting the fridge and giving us feedback have also gradually increased. And every time the fridge is damaged more and something else that worked previously is now faulty - the last of this series of issues was the water pipe leading to the dispenser. When queried about exactly what they are doing with our fridge, the vagueness of the answer remains: 'We are just running some more tests on it." Currently they have had our fridge for two months - over the weekend the dilapidated loan fridge they have given us, started tripping our electricity. So now we are completely stuck. My husband phoned them today, on which Charles, who has been the person in charge, immediately said they will return our fridge tomorrow - no explanation given to why they have had it for so long without any communication. I am quite sure it is going to work for a week maximum before it packs up again. It feels like a game, with Defy just waiting for us to give up and buy a new appliance - that might happen, but it will definitely not be a Defy appliance. Can't rely on Defy!
