Beware of Defy Quality. Not the brand we all knew and loved.

Defy used to be the Go To brand in SA. Unfortunately I believe that the Defy Fridge/Freezer I purchased last year from Makro was made in Turkey! I noticed immediately on receiving the fridge that the Freezer doors and the bottle compartment in the fridge door were of exceptionally poor quality. Sure enough, after a few months 3 of the freezer drawers and the bottle compartment broke. When trying to contact Defy Customer Care, the phone is disregarded on their side. I gave up on the third attempt. Apparently they consider FREEZER DRAWERS AND DOOR COMPARTMENT AS ACCESSORIES!!!!! This is insane!!! These parts are all delivered as part of the package!!!! The fridge is simply incomplete without them. My advice to anyone contemplating buying a Defy product is to walk away and spend their money on another, more reliable brand. Defy is not the brand we all knew. And forget about Customer Care. It doesn’t exist.
