BAD DEFY EXPERIENCE...CANNOT RELY ON DEFY

Bought a stove through an independent dealer. Alwyn en seuns. Paid Twelve and a half thousand rand. Stove was delivered in September. Oven seals came loose. Technician that does defy repairs replaced seals and it came loose just two days after that....tech came out again and same story... That was not the only problem, oven racks warped inside and sides of oven and pans shifted to side...looked like racks were bit too small. DEFY ( NOT THE DEALER )decided they replaced the stove and we were impressed at first. STOVE arrived and at first glance after opening the oven a seal was hanging loose. (it is not suppose to come loose) it should be able to withstand heat up to 240° celcius. I mean it is a brand new stove. The driver was present at that moment and we showed him. His reaction was "phone the technician to come and sort it out... On further inspection we found the top of stove was loose, can be lifted up...the part where the plates are. The sides of the outside panel looks like its been dropped . The whole stove is wobbly. When you push it it swings.

The technician came again and when he wanted to fit new seals the NEW seals came loose before he wanted to fit it. The technician said the frame is not acceptable because the underneath structure is totally loose. The same day he was here he phoned us and asked if we would be interested in a new stove or a refund. WE CHOSE A REFUND. After a while that day he phoned back and says the dealer Alwyn &Sons refuse a refund because DEFY didn't worked through them(ALWYN&SONS). THAT IS WHERE EVERYTHING STOPPED....A MONTH AGO NOTHING FURTHER HAPPENED FROM THEIR SIDE

In the beginning of this week (after numerous phone calls and complaints on their Facebook page) I spoke to Eddie (head of technical) he said that it is not they that should pay us back but the dealers. He offered a stove to us and we said yes , keeping in mind that Defy offered us a refund (not the dealer). Eddie said he will phone back , but nothing as from Monday... I received a job number from someone working for Defy on Facebook. This is now a matter of concern because we paid alot for this stove. The fact that the ovenseals is defective is also a main concern...even if the stove is 100% and the seals is not, the oven/stove is worthless. Can you please help us? Regards Pieter Nieuwoudt
