Title: Formal Demand for Cancellation of Debt Review Agreement and Repayment of Unauthorised R7,300 Debit

I am formally demanding the cancellation and termination of my debt review agreement/mandate with Debt Out and the repayment of amounts that I maintain were deducted from me without my authorisation.

My original approved affordable instalment was R5,500.00 per month. In May 2026, Debt Out requested that this amount be increased to R7,300.00. I expressly refused the proposed increase and did not authorise Debt Out to proceed with the R7,300.00 instalment.

Despite my refusal, a R7,300.00 debit was subsequently processed from May 2026, and I dispute this debit as unauthorised. I therefore demand a complete reconciliation of all amounts deducted from me from April 2026 to date, including any fees, deductions, payments to creditors and amounts retained by Debt Out.

I hereby demand:

1. Immediate cancellation/termination of my agreement and/or debit-order mandate with Debt Out, subject to any legally required process. 2. Written confirmation that no further debit orders will be processed against my bank account. 3. Repayment of the R7,300.00 disputed unauthorised debit from May 2026, together with any other amounts subsequently deducted without my valid authorisation. 4. A complete statement showing every amount deducted from me since April 2026. 5. A complete payment reconciliation showing exactly how much was paid to each creditor and on which dates. 6. A written explanation of the contractual and legal authority re**** upon for deducting R7,300.00 after I had refused the proposed increase. 7. Written confirmation of the cancellation of any debit-order authority or mandate that Debt Out claims permits further deductions. 8. Appropriate corrective action regarding any adverse credit reporting or creditor arrears that resulted from the disputed administration or payment distribution.

14-DAY NOTICE

I am giving Debt Out 14 calendar days from receipt/publication of this complaint to provide a satisfactory written response, complete reconciliation and repayment of the disputed amount.

If this matter is not resolved within the 14-day period, I reserve my right to pursue legal proceedings and appropriate regulatory/dispute-resolution remedies without further notice, including seeking independent legal advice and escalating the matter to the National Credit Regulator (NCR) and any other competent authority.

I have retained relevant supporting documentation, including correspondence regarding the R5,500.00 approved instalment, the subsequent R7,300.00 request that I refused, debit-order information, credit-report screenshots, communications with Debt Out and my previous complaints regarding creditor arrears.

This is my formal attempt to resolve the matter directly before taking further action.

Title: Serious Concerns About Debt Out Debt Review Administration, Transparency and Payments to Creditors
I am extremely dissatisfied with my experience with Debt Out’s debt review service and believe my matter has been handled in a manner that has caused me serious financial prejudice.
My original agreement was based on an affordable monthly instalment of R5,500, which I approved. I was subsequently informed in May 2026 that the proposed instalment would be increased to R7,300, which I explicitly refused. Despite my refusal, the process continued.
I was also informed that a once-off deduction would be taken from my first payment at the end of April 2026. However, since May 2026, amounts have continued to be deducted/retained while my creditors’ accounts have apparently continued to accumulate arrears.
My biggest concern is that the amounts being distributed to creditors do not appear to correspond with the monthly instalments that had been agreed with them. As a result, my credit accounts are showing arrears despite Debt Out having taken over the administration of these debts.
I repeatedly raised this issue with my portfolio manager, Lemeez. In June 2026, I asked why my credit report was showing accounts in arrears despite the debt review arrangement. I received no satisfactory explanation. I raised the same concern again in early July 2026 and provided screenshots showing the arrears. I was told not to worry and that the matter would be investigated, but I still have not received a satisfactory resolution.
I subsequently reviewed an affidavit provided to me and found it concerning because, in my view, it did not clearly set out the outstanding balances, how payments would be distributed among creditors, or the specific payment arrangements applicable to each account. I therefore questioned what exactly I was being asked to legally bind myself to.
This is particularly concerning because the purpose of debt review should be to assist an over-indebted consumer in becoming financially stable—not to create additional arrears or potentially damage the consumer’s credit profile.
I am requesting that Debt Out provide a full written reconciliation showing:
• Every amount I have paid to Debt Out since April 2026;
• Any fees or amounts retained by Debt Out and the contractual/legal basis for each deduction;
• The exact amount paid to every creditor and the dates of those payments;
• The agreed monthly instalment for every creditor;
• Any shortfalls between agreed instalments and amounts actually distributed;
• The current outstanding balance on every account;
• An explanation for the arrears appearing on my credit profile; and
• A clear explanation of what steps will be taken to correct any inaccurate or prejudicial reporting.
I am also requesting that Debt Out explain why creditors are apparently reporting arrears while Debt Out has been administering the payments under the debt review process.
I am not making these concerns lightly. I have attempted to resolve the matter directly and have repeatedly requested clarification. Unfortunately, I have not received an explanation that satisfactorily addresses the issues.
My concern is therefore not simply about customer service. It concerns financial administration, transparency, payment distribution, representations made to me, and the potential impact on my credit standing.
If Debt Out cannot provide a satisfactory written resolution, reconciliation and corrective action, I intend to seek independent legal advice and escalate the matter to the National Credit Regulator (NCR) and any other appropriate regulatory or dispute-resolution body.
I strongly recommend that consumers considering debt review carefully scrutinise their agreements, payment schedules, creditor statements, deductions and credit reports, and obtain written confirmation of how every payment is being allocated.
