False promises and you will pay way more than they promised.
I have been paying Hyphen PDA through Debtline since 2018 to settle my debt. The mount in my contract that needed to be paid was R140 464.01.
I have now, this month, paid them R147 850. Yet according my debt balances. I still owe an additional R39 000. I have also noticed that the amount I owe in total will decrease and then suddenly increase to twice my monthly amount I need to pay. This then sets me back 2 months every time they do this. When I question them about this, I get no answer.
I have tried endlessly to get hold of them via email even going as far as CC'ing in all possible emails belonging to the company.
I have resent these emails multiple times over the last month BUT HAVE NOT HAD A SINGLE REPLY.
They have always been good to reply to me but now that the amount I have paid according to their own dashboard, and the amount I need to pay according to my contract with them, is the same amount (yet there is still R39 000 outstanding according to them, I have been ignored completely.
They are now unreachable and have full access to my debit order and is taking more money every month.

According to my creditors, the outstanding amounts are correct. I then confirmed the interest rate of each of them. Even with the interest rate on top of what I owed, the current outstanding amounts are still almost triple the interest rates I was given today.
1. Why can nobody explain where this mystery debt come from?
2. I still have had no answer on the several occasions where Debtline has debited me but my balance owing increases.
3. I was also promised during the initial call that they debtline will secure my interest at a very low fixed rate. I would like access to this recording.
I have just been letting the debit order go off every month and never really thought about it. But now that I started digging, it seems like there are several accounts that do not make sense. The excuse I get is that the numbers are probably not updated and they will get the new numbers from the credit providers. After following up with them today, it seems that these numbers are correct and something is adding a almost 32% interest on some of my accounts. The documents provided by my credit providers shows that it is not from them.

Zulfa is working on your case, and will give you the feedback required.
As a Debt counsellor, we do not receive or handle your money, this is done by a 3rd party provider - so the counsellor will never have direct access to your payments. This is heavily regulated by the National Credit Regulator, so there are no chances of money going missing
Zulfa will be able to break down the distributions to you.
Kind regards,

My one debt from your statement has now increased from R6397,78 to R11971,43. This is 46.5% interest? Where did this sudden extra R5574 come from?
I still would like an answer on my previous payment that I paid that made no difference to my balances.
I then again contacted my creditors direct and have been told I owe more than what I am being told by Debtline. It seems like Debtline did not initially come to an agreement with what the interest rates on my debt will be.
Zulfa, I can't wait for you to get back and get this sorted. I need your help here.

Please also note that after paying R4 000 last month, my balance increased by R180. Which means somehow my account increased by R4180. The same as 2 months before that, where I paid R4000 and my balance increased by R582, which means my total account increased by R4582. This is happening constantly every 2 to 3 months.
I need this sorted as soon as possible as the 3 years as promised in the email I forwarded from the original salesman has passed. It has now been 4 years and I am still paying, and my balance is not lowering.
Please see the attached screenshot again of these balances increasing in red.

It has now been over 2 months since I paid off all my debt with you yet you still cannot give me a clearance certificate. Emails are now not even being answered with them
