I signed up with DebtBusters in 2016 because I was drowning in debt and believed their promise that after five years of reduced payments, I would be debt-free and able to move on with my life. Almost 10 years later, I am still stuck in this nightmare thanks to their incompetence and mismanagement.
While some of my debts, like credit cards, have been paid off, my vehicle finance account has been an absolute disaster. They "forgot" to include my balloon payment when consolidating my debts and only adjusted it after I fought them multiple times. From then on, it has been endless headaches and false information.
The statements they send me are always inaccurate, and because I am not allowed to deal directly with my creditors, I have to rely on their so-called “expertise.” They have an app to check balances, but it’s a joke — the numbers constantly change, moving the goalposts on how much I owe.
In November, I got a statement showing R6700 Owed Two weeks later, the app updated to a completely different balance owed, R13500 Today, I got another statement saying I owe R16,000+.
When I asked them about this, they admitted their statements are "not 100% accurate." Excuse me? How is this acceptable? How can you manage people’s finances with such blatant incompetence?
To make matters worse, I’ve now been contacted by their lawyer with yet another amount I apparently owe. DebtBusters is unreliable, unprofessional, and completely *************.
They have destroyed my finances and caused me years of unnecessary stress. If you are considering DebtBusters, DON’T. They’ve turned what was supposed to be a lifeline into a never-ending nightmare.
DebtBusters, you owe me and every other customer better service than this!
Best regards,
