Once a customer Debtbusters don't seem to care anymore.
I am absolutely shocked at the after contract service of Debtbusters. I have been paying of my debt with Debtbusters for more than 6 years. I have never missed a single payment. For the last year I saw that the amount that Debtbusters said I owed Wesbank for my car was a lot more than what my statement from Wesbank said. I contacted them 2 or 3 months ago to point this out. After my first phone call I waited for my next statement. When it arrived no change. I again contacted them and they told me there is no record of the first time I phoned. So after the second call they aligned it with the amount owed to Wesbank. So this month I reached a point where I could just add a bit of money to my normal payment and actually pay the car off. My last statement from Debtbusters showed it was only the car that was outstanding. So I got a settlement letter from Wesbank and paid off the final amount of +- R5130. My monthly payment is about R4700. So after I settled with Wesbank I phoned Debtbusters so they don't do a full debit on my account again as I know getting my money back will be a mission. I phoned previous week Friday, After holding about half an hour someone finally answered. I explained to them and they told me to mail proof of payment. I then send the settlement letter and proof of payment, so they can see I paid what was owed. I clearly also state in the letter that I send both. After no feed back the next week I phoned again. Again I held on for more that 15 minutes with no answer. I decide to go to their website for new customers and put my detail there. I kid you not, 5 seconds later someone phones me. I explain what my issue is and they put me through to another number where I again get to explain my situation, and that I need to know what is happening as I can't have the debit go off and I end up paying to much, and I use money that is meant for other things. So end of last week I phone again to follow up. Again I hold for more than 15 minutes. I explain my situation to the person who answers the phone and they put me through to the person (I think) that works with my file. She tells me that she contacted the bank and see it's paid off but there is still an amount of R114 owed to FNB. She said that she will mail me their settlement letter the same day and I can go pay them straight at one of their branches. I agree and then awaited the e-mail. Saturday I see there is an email from Debtbusters and expected it must be the settlement letter for the R114 owed to FNB that was suppose to have been mailed in the week. Then comes my biggest shock yet in the service from Debtbusters. It is a mail replying to my original letter to them with proof of payment, where I clearly told them I have attached the Wesbank settlement letter plus proof of payment. The person who rep**** telling me I must please make payment straight to Wesbank. I was stunned. Did they not understand English, did they not look at the attachments or did they not read what I wrote? It felt then that everything I have done since the start of my communication with them was in vain. No surprise, Sunday night (last night) the R4600 debit went off my account. So I have now spend almost R10 000 this month. And now to try and get my money back. I can not believe the bad service. I can not decide if it is due to lack of skills or just a matter of not caring? Maybe there is to much focus on getting new customers and not enough on helping your current customers. Now to worry about how I am going to survive the rest of the month.
