"No more debt. We'll get it sorted." - In my (and your) dreams!!!

This is the email I sent Debtbusters today. Self-explanatory!

"Good day

Above-mentioned refer as well as telephone conversation between myself and Sipho Ncapayi from your company Friday 10 instant at 10:27.

I, Alwyn Mostert, hereby inform Debtbusters that I wish to terminate the debt review with immediate effect.

Reasons are:

1. From the beginning, the client’s contribution was calculated on his highest income, including overtime and encashments, instead of his basic income. When these factors were taken out of the equation by his employer, your company refused to assist. 2. When issues arose, the client wasn’t informed telephonically – only emails were sent. Your company assumes that all people are checking their emails every minute of every hour of every day. As a matter of fact, your company assumes that all persons applying for debt review, has full access to an email address. Therefore representatives don’t bother to pick up a telephone to contact clients. 3. If there was no response from the client, representatives aren’t bothered to contact the client telephonically to confirm that the email was received. 4. Issues aren’t addressed in a timely manner – it took nearly a month for certain issues to be resolved, and the client had to phone in every time to check on the progress of the matter. 5. When responding to urgent emails sent by your company, the representative involved did not even read it until the client informed him telephonically that there was a response to his email. He told the client that he hasn’t read his emails yet, after 14:00 on a Friday afternoon. 6. Communications received from your company are incorrect and vague, which meant that the client had to waste time and money to contact credit providers to resolve issues himself. 7. When contacting credit providers, they don’t even know about these issues brought up by your company. 8. Your company allows debt collecting agencies to enter into the agreement without disputing it or informing the client. 9. Accounts get added to the client’s profile without consulting with him because “it was picked up on the ITC check and we added it otherwise you would not have a clean credit record when you are done with debt review.” 10. The client wasn’t informed that a credit provider terminated an account under debt review, with specific reference to Nedbank. 11. The client was never informed that the credit providers did not want to accept the offers that was put to them. He was only informed that some of the offers weren’t accepted when he contacted your company on 29 April 2024 at 14:27. This is ironic seeing that, according to your company, the negotiations process was finalized September 2023 when the client received the statement with the increased amount and the representative from your company confirmed the amount and assured him that this amount will not change.

In the end, a process that had to be painless, was just an added stress factor for the client to deal with under already stressful circumstances. Your company’s representatives are supposed to deal with clients in a compassionate manner by listening to their queries and lend support by resolving it FOR them. This is clearly NOT the aim of your company! The slogan on your website’s home page is definitely NOT correct when it states: “No more debt. We’ll get it sorted.” In more than one instance the client had to resolve issues directly with the credit provider.

The client is extremely disappointed and dissatisfied with your company’s service."

It says it all!!!
