Having been in debt for the past two decades having raised four daughters as a single parent without ant other maintenance support I was forced to take out several loans to educate my children private tuition and each spending 8 years at tertiary, 2 are now senior CAs one a Doctor in Politics and international relations and the last one us completing her PPE degree with Wits, while during this time coming from an apartheid past also had to educate myself and I hold two masters degrees and a doctorate. Nevertheless, I was permanently in debt and in the end had no way out. Although I was a huge and an exceptional client for over 10 years and in relations with absa, Capitec, direct axis, among others, but not a single one of these financial providers were going to assist as I sank deeper into financial stress. The entire country is economically battling having survived covid 19 and now the impact of the recent Russia and Ukraine War on the global economy, we are feeling the pressure and not spared, and not one, none at all, of all these huge companies that I paid huge amounts to on a monthly basis over decades, not a single one was prepared to consolidate my debt or to help me and make things easier for me just to survive.
