By far one of the worst companies to have any dealings with

From the very beginning dealing with Debt Busters has been nothing but a headache. They’re not transparent with how everything works, sneakily leave out key information when signing you up and it seems their only goal is to trap you into a consolidation loan. All they’re efficient with is sending SMS’s reminding you of payments due and payment dates but don’t have the common decency to respond to your emails!

Included in my monthly repayment is an amount of R413.19 for what appears to be a credit life premium, which I agree with because my loan still needs to be honoured in the event that I die. But they also built in R317.12 for funeral cover and R250 for life cover…of which I can’t recall signing up for because I have funeral and life cover in my personal capacity. I’ve asked what beneficiaries are listed and what the cover amounts are for the funeral and life cover and since the 10th of January I haven’t been answered. All they do is keep sending a mail acknowledging receipt of my mail when I follow up.

And I won’t call them because I want everything in writing. The information I’m requesting is not unreasonable and it’s ridiculous that it can take 3 weeks to get an answer. This makes is seem like they’re hiding something!

I hope everyone who sees this, warns someone else to leave these debt review places alone! Especially Debt Busters. They trap you by offering you lower monthly repayments on your debt and say that they will pay all your creditors monthly and you just have to pay them a fixed monthly amount but after a while you’ll notice that your credit score drops and that on your credit report it shows missed payments every now and then to some of your creditors, so how they distribute funds is a mystery. And then when you want to cancel the entire thing and stop dealing with them they say it’s fine you can cancel with us but we won’t remove the debt review flag on your credit profile till you’ve settled all of your debt on your own. Which defeats the whole purpose of you wanting to cut all ties with them!
