*********** and inhumane

On 24 June 2026 Sanlam Loans contacted me because I have a loan with them and said they would like me to talk to a company and promptly put me through to another line. The people on the other side were Debt Busters, to my surprise a debt review company. I did not ask for this nor did I miss any payments. Tukiso on the other side was so great and convincing that I decided to take up the offer. He said I will save R2500 pm if i take the deal and put my Sanlam loan and my 2 cars on debt review. I agreed and the paperwork was sent, I signed and my 1st payment went off on 24 July 2026. Sanlam also took their debit order of R4301.51 which was not supposed to happen. I can't reverse this debit order as it is a debicheck and only Sanlam can do it.

I contacted Debt Busters hoping to talk to Tukiso to fix my problem - but to no avail. The person on the other side assured me someone will contact me. I had to phone daily and ask what is happening, I emailed, I wrote on Hello Peter and then someone phoned me, Naiama Salie | Client Service and Retention Consultant. Promised me to sort it out and phone me, which never happened.

I kept phoning always speaking to someone else and I kept emailing, Blessing Mahloko , Tukiso Moahloli , no answers to date from any of them.

I eventually received my money back on 24 August 2026 from Sanlam and on 25 August 2026 they took the debit order again and so did Debt Busters. So now the R4301.51 and the R8000.00 went off again. I immediately contacted Debt Busters via email and phone. I also sent Sanlam an email.

On Friday 4 September 2026 I phoned Debt Busters again and they told me it can take up to 60 days before I will receive my money back from Sanlam. I also received mail from MFC, which is one of the accounts that Debt Busters took over, to say my payments are in arrears. On Debt Busters account link it still shows negotiations with MFC but they have taken my money now for 2 months.

How is it possible that Debt Busters don't take responsibility for what is happening to me and why don't they pay me back my money while they sort out the problems on their side? I have now been out of R8603 and this has left me with unpaid debit orders, no electricity, petrol and food. And still no one from Debt Busters talk to me on the phone.

And today MFC says they want to take my car because they haven't been paid for two months and they have not agreed to the Debt Review. No one knows what they are doing at Debt Busters and I am the one suffering. Who is going to pay my electricity and my petrol to get to work?
