Debt Review Lies and Back-Peddling

I sent my debt review docs to Monica Botha at Debt Therapy 29/03/2018. Monica confirms receipt of documents and confirms a few days later that monthly payments will be R16000pm, I ask multiple times if this is correct via email and whatsapp she confirms that this is the only amount we need to pay till our debt is paid off. On 10/04/2018 she sends me a fee structure form to sign and send back where it also states our monthly payment that we need to confirm, sign and send back, which we do. Then on 20 April Monica calls me via whatsapp and asks if we could possibly pay more, which I question as she asked for our budget and expenditure excluding debt when their office edited as well then sent back to me in the beginning of April. So I explain to her that it's not possible and we could possibly pay R1500 - R2000 max more. She also only then asks if we have kids, which I tell her we do and also indicated the monthly schoolfees amount in the budget we submitted to them. She send me a casacading proposal where it shows we need to pay R27000pm (which we can't afford) then advised telephonically that I should stick to the R16000pm as she initially stated with a yearly increase, then I ask her how the 20% yearly increase (effective April 2019) will work, will it be R16000 + R4800 making our premium R20800pm in April 2019 and she says not, the R4800 is divided by 12 months so in April 2019 our increase will only be R16400pm for the 2019 year so we accepted that. Monica said goodbye to me but did not end the call and heard one of the ladies in the office say that we "bull****ted our way through our budget and she hates stupid clients, she doesn't care if they made the mess, we as clients must fork out the money". Then I received a email and call from Monique Brown stating that everything Monica told us is wrong and she doesn't know why she sent us the fee structure form to sign and confirm. Monique also mentioned sequestration which i told her was not an option at all, thus the reason why we turned to them for help. She told me our first payment is due in April and I advised her that I am not comfortable paying them till this whole situation is sorted out and we find a happy medium for all parties involved as they already confirmed and had us sign the fee structure form stating we only need to pay R16000. After this call I called Monica again and she advised that we again only need to pay R16000pm and Monique is wrong. I called Monique again and she advised that she would relook at everything and come back to me. I have since then not heard anything from Monica or Monique. We went to debt therapy for help and they set this up and told us what we need to pay, then 5 days before payment they back-peddling. I want to know what is going on and need someone professional to come talk to us face to face regarding this!!!

This is not the way we do business and I will review this in full and reply accordingly.

I would be very shocked if this is true and I will take action against those involved. (Please note that I will not hold back and the full truth will be told that may affect both parties).

After investigating the matter I can confirm that Debt Therapy was at fault regarding various issues and mistakes were made. However I believe these have been rectified.

Staff involved have been disciplined accordingly to ensure that this does not happen again.

This is a isolated incident and believe it to be resolved.

Please update your comments if you are happy with the outcome or contact me in the event that this is not the case.
