No Refund from Debonairs.
15 days of waiting for a refund for an order I have never obtained - due to a website bug which allowed me to order on a day that they were not trading (and if I knew this, I would not have ordered).
On the first of May 2020 when the ban had been lifted from delivery of fast food, I decided to treat my family and ordered R498.70 worth of pizzas from the Debonairs website, from the Goodwood Branch. When I had waited 2 hours for a delivery, I phoned the store only to find out that they were not trading on that day. I had requested a refund, which they agreed to do, and they never got around to it. They simply asked me what my phone number was (and I had assumed they would have cross referenced it on a backend system to find my order and refund it).
After 3 days,I have sat with a constant back - without - forth emailing session over the past 15 days, trying to get a hold of customer service for Debonairs. It has been Radio Silence.
After around the 10 day mark, I attempted to contact them via Social Media. They had comp**** to escalate the task, but immediately fell back into radio silence.
Now I wanted to phone their customer support hotline (0861 DPIZZA). I was greeted with "This number is no longer in service."
To this point I want to threaten legal action. Money is money. And service is service. Unfortunately, the hard truth is that when a customer pays for something and gets nothing in return, and not a refund, then it is technically theft and breach of the Consumer Protection Act.
0/10. Will not order from Debonairs again. Truly unprofessional down to the core.
