Debonairs delivery hit and ru and they refuse to help!

<p>27 August, a Debonairs delivery bike driver switched lanes without checking his blindspot and as result crashed right into my car. He then proceeded to drive off without stopping which resulted in me having to chase him and drive in front of him to block him from running again, that resulted in him driving into my back bumper. My issue is that a Debonairs manager by the name of Vernon, came to the scene quickly, assessed the damage and concluded that they accept responsibility as Debonairs and they will pay to fix my car. Out of disbelief, I asked the manager if it would not be necessary to open a case and he insisted that it definitely was not necessary he then conceded that for my peace of mind I could have a affidavit made by the driver reiterating what occurred and that Debonairs would pay. Vernon himself, wrote on paper that the store takes responsibility for the damages and will fix it. The next day, Vernon calls me to say the accounts department actually need a case number now so a case does need to be opened. I obliged went to the police station to report the accident and provided Debonairs with all of the information they requested. Two days ago, I receive an sms from a Karin Jacobs expressly stating that Debonairs will not take responsibility and when I tried to speak to this Karin, she hangs up while I am speaking, rejects my calls and has overall been quite unprofessional and rude. I have not received a single call from their "insurers" regarding the claim instead Karin says that I need to contact their insurers to claim. That makes no sense considering they said they had already filed a claim and have all the details . They have obviously decided they can do what they want after causing damage to my car and me and do not care at all! I'm too hurt to be angry at this point. Just extremely disappointed that a representative of Debonairs would state one thing and then decide to change the story without any consequences faced. Pathetic really.</p>
