Worst Experience ever - Bad Communication

Worst Experience Everrrrrrr. I registered last year and after the pandemic hit - i sent them an email in October to cancel my course due to financial problems, i went from pillar to post sending motivational emails filling out all the documents they requested, then they went silent on me, I sent emails if not every week than every single month - I could not reach them on the phone- Mind you, every department will pick up your calls , registrations, payments etc, but the cancellation department is very useless. I ended up asking them to rather change my course so i could do maybe a 1 year course just to i can finish faster and move on, they are still not active, i;ve been calling and sending emails but no response, however they are never late on their debit orders and reminders , I WANT TO CANCEL MY QUALIFICATION WITH THEM, I HAVE WASTED MY MONEY. I URGE EVERYONE TO NEVER EVER REGISTER WITH THIS INSTITUTION !!!. Registering with them is very seamless and easy , but everything after that is the worst. I honestly wish I' never registered with this institution what a waste of my money...

I don’t even know where to start...immediately after I posted the complaint I received an email saying (8 March 2021)

“Dear Learner

We acknowledge receipt of your email.

Please be informed that you will receive feedback soonest.

Should you require additional assistance, please contact us”.

To this day I have not received any additional feedback.

I do however have enough evidence to report them (Damelin Correspondence College) to the DHET- I have all email communication and full names of everyone I was ever in contact with - from my first enquiries.

There also is a couple of higher education ombudsman’s in South Africa that are willing to assist and facilitate this issue.

How do you ask for my personal details (student number and email address on a public platform?)

In as much as higher education institutions have rights- As students we do have rights as well and we need to exercise them as opposed to complaining and hoping that our issues get resolved.
