Poor Correspondence and services delivery.

Damelin (Durban, field campus) is not taking its students serious, after a year I still have not received my facilitators certificate that I started in September 2016 and ended in November 2016 of which during that period Damelin was quick to hound us in paying the tuition fee before the end of the course. I've taken up other SETA accredited courses with different institutions since the beginning of this year (2017) and I've recieved all the certificates due to me. I wouldn't recommend Damelin to anyone who wants to do short courses with them anymore, this is unacceptable. When we (Students) enquired about this situation in April 2017, this is the response we got from the institution: I do apologize for the delay, however there is a process that these PoE’s have to go through before certification takes place. Because this is a SETA approved programme the PoE’s have to be moderated and then go for verification by the SETA and upon verification the SETA will certify.

At this point, the PoE’s are in the moderation phase having been assessed already by your facilitator.

As soon as we get the moderator report, we will have the files verified and feedback will be provided. We are hoping to conclude this process within the next 2 months, however if it is done sooner, we will update you and the group

Further, please advise what programme you would like to move onto and we will try and assist you with the process.

With the above said we waited for the 2 months mentioned in the response from Miss Naicker and it's October already with no correspondence from her or any other staff members regarding the delay of our certificates but instead they keep passing the buck to SETA and externally moderators and that they are not sure what is causing the delay. Can someone please intervene on this issue because what this institution is doing its taking the youth of this country for a ride given that they are encouraged everyday to go and study and obtain qualifications and that education is key to the empowerment and upliftment of the republics youth.
