i have been astounded at the service i have received from damelin correspondence college. i app**** for a course early september last year. once i paid in full (R9200) i was told that i would receive my study material within a few weeks. i was then informed that i would need to find a service provider (another school or college) where i could register to write the final exams. when i asked the consultant where i could apply for this i was given a major run around and needless to say i had to phone 42 differrent numbers / people to get the same response: we cannot help you, they all said that damelin is to arrange a service provider for me. i got hold of the same consultant who then advised thim that if they could not assist in this i would cancel this application and sign on with another college who was willing to help me. only then did i get a number to call who could register me for final examinations. another additioanl amount was to be paid (R1500). i finally received my materials and then was informed that i had to buy textbooks. i then shopped around to get these text books at another addidational cost (R3000), only to find out that the material that i had received and the study material did not correspond. i went on another shopping spree to get more text books. it was then 6 months after i had Initially regeistered. i have now lost all desire to study and move forward with this caourse and have requested a cancelaltion with Damelin. i have now been informed that to do this i will be charged R1000 for administration fee as well as an additional charge of 77% for my cancellation. they are not giving me a breakdown of this 77% and they respond saying that they hope i find this cancellation fee in order? seriosuly. how on earth would i be happy with this when the service i received from them was entirely dismal and unhelpful.
