DAMELIN - ABSOLUTELY APPALLING SERVICE / TREATMENT

I am writing on behalf of my Cousin Cathy Jacobs and her son Duncan Jacobs, who lives in Namibia and apparently can't write a review because of this.

Her son, Duncan Jacobs app**** to Damelin in Namibia on the 1st March this year and paid his Deposit and it was only "RECEIVED" on the 19th March.. By the 29th March he had not had any feedback or study materials from Damelin and decided to cancel this contract.

Well, when I read the emails sent to Damelin and the replies that were received, it'is absolutely pathetic coming from a Learning Institution (Branch Manager, Mitcheline Markowitz - Namibia and Charne Swartz | Client Liaison Officer - Johannesburg).

I am totally disgusted by the emails received from Damelin. This has been going on from the 29th March to Date. And they had a cheek to say to this young man's mother 'with all due respect' that the contract is between Damelin and my son and I should basically not be interfering as he is also over 21 years of age.

This young man works for a pittance and it trying to better himself by studying. Paying a hard earned Deposit by Saving and receives absolutely nothing in return. Has sent emails himself and has had no help whatsoever and when his mother tries to get a response, she gets this reply. What chance does this youngster stand when even his mother gets this response.

He has every right to cancel this contract! It has not been honoured by Damelin! But of course they will come up with something as ridiculous as:

This could range between R1000.00 if you are within the cooling off period all the way up to 100% of your initial invoiced amount.

All this child wanted was study materials. Which he never got! Now they want to take his whole deposit because of a "Cooling Off Period"! When was that, as he requested "Cancellation" within the same month and it is now December and he is still getting the Run around.

I have the emails sent from Duncan and Cathy, but can unfortunately not upload them here.

But I can see by all Damelin's Reviews that they do this to everyone!
