Businesses like Damelin should not exist in our societies

Possibly the worst thing you could ever do is to try and register for Damelin Correspondence College (DCC), if you are reading this and are trying to decide whether to register or not, please save yourself the torment and don't.

My brother app**** for DCC and after being pressed so hard, we made the deposit the day we found out the registration was approved. A few weeks go by we have no student number. We cancel, and after them trying to convince us not to, we go ahead. They ask for a motivating letter, we give it to them. I call a few weeks later to find out what happens now and the lady, a Ms. Beronic Lottering, says my cancellation has been approved and I must await refund. It's months after the fact and now the lady who pressed us so hard to make the deposit is no longer responding to my emails, I call them on a daily but no one is able to assist me. They are sitting with a lot of our money that we could be using to get on with our lives and are completely insensitive to that.

As an institution, they have absolutely no accountability, they are irresponsible and they do not care about their students or prospective students. If organisations like DCC did not exist, I am certain the world would be a much better place. Instead of uplifting society by providing their (important) services and earn income from it, they earn income by drawing it out of you and then leaving you to rot by the wayside.

Why don't these organisations have an ombudsman? Why are they accountable to no one?
