Appalling Service and Care
DAMELIN CORRESPONDENCE COLLEGE. STUDENT NO:-443049. How ludicrous is Damelin's "Mission Statement". We, plus numerous other students, have not received customer service excellence. One just has to refer to the 274 complaints from Students, to know that there is no professional assistance from Damelin Correspondence College. Hereunder our problems:- 1) ASSIGNMENTS. We have not received one reply to the numerous emails to this Department requesting the anticipated return date of marked assignments. Yet, to each of these we have received an Automated reply reading " Dear Student, please be advised that we have received your Assignment and you do not need to resend it again. Please note that the turnaround time for marking of assignments is 30 days, but due to the Lockdown it might take longer." Not knowing how long "longer" will be, we have allowed for an additional 15 working days, making it a total of 45 working days from emailing date when estimating the OVERDUE days. Hereunder the result of how many days the Assignments due to be returned were OVERDUE;- Ass.No. 518A - Mailed 1 May 20 - Rec.15 Dec 20 = 113 days late Ass. No. 518B – Mailed 13 May 20 - Rec.15 Dec 20 = 108 days late Ass. No. 518C – Mailed 24 Jun 20 - Rec 17 May21 = 179 days late Ass. No. 519A - Mailed 14 Apr 21 - Rec 21 Sep 21 = 62 days late Ass. No. 519B - Mailed 5 May 21 - Still outstanding - now 102 days late Ass. No. 520A - Mailed 14 Feb 21 - Still outstanding - now 157 days late Ass. No. 520B - Mailed 10 Mar 21 - Rec.14 Sep 21 = 82 days late Ass. No. 521A - Mailed 31 Mar 21 - Still outstanding - now 116 days late Ass. No. 521B - Mailed 6 Apr 21 - Rec 14 Sept 21 = 64 days late
With our many unanswered emails to the Assignments Dept., we still await the return of three assignments with an average of 125 days overdue.
2) We are unable to access the Students Portal! This has been ongoing since we started the assignments.
3) The only contact from D.C.C. throughout our 2 years has been firstly, an SMS/phone message from D.C.C. Accounts Dept asking us to make sure we have sufficient funds to meet our monthly Debit order which was paid in full some time back; and secondly, was with the Student Services Team Leader who responded to our "Hello Peter" complaint lodged in October 2020 confirming that He would be our personal Liaison with the College. He has been the recipient of many emails appealing for help regarding our outstanding Assignments. He too had major problems with the Assignment Dept. who failed to provide any help whatsoever.
4) For the record 74 emails have been sent from us, with 13 no replies and the balance appealing for help.
5) Our emails to D.C.C. complaints dept. ( complaints @intec.edu.za ), and to ***, remain unanswered.
6) Our email to Customer Care advertised as "***" was returned unknown!
7) We were unsuccessful in our endeavour to obtain Document No. B6-HE/02 Procedure Complaint. This is a Students Grievance Policy.
8) Two visits to the Pretoria Branch of D.C.C. proved a waste of time, as apart from telling us that by now we should have written our Exam, could provide no further help!
9) This is the fourth time we have written a review to "Hello Peter"without the required result!
Without any help from anyone, we are unable to achieve our aim for a conclusion to our studies, and obtain a diploma/certificate. With the above listed problems, we appeal for a resolution within 10 working days. Should this remain unsolved, we shall revert to The Consumer Protection Agency as well as the Ombudsman.
