*********** FACILITATORS

My son is enrolled at the CTU Campus in Potchefstroom, studying Business Accounting. I have lodged a formal compaint with this campus with regards to the facilitator they appointed for this course. The answer they gave me was not satisfactory, instead they attacked my son and made him out to be the problem. I subsequently complained to CTU Head Office, who referred me back to Potchefstroom Campus. I feel that my issues are not being dealt with. My son started recording the lessons in order for us to try and go through everything during the afternoon and see if we can clarify some lessons for him. We have even approach someone from outside to help my son. It is unacceptable that we have to resort to this. On the recordings it can be clearly heard that the facilitator has done NO preparation at all for the lesson. She is confused and by her own words: doesn't know what to do. On more than one occasion she started explaining something, realized she was wrong, correct herself, correct herself again and in the next 10 - 20 minutes there will be silence while she is trying to "figure out" what to do. She asked the students to help her trying to solve problems and at one stage offered R50 to whomever can come up with the correct answer. On another occasion one of the students had to explain to HER how he came up with a certain answer. Does this sounds like a competent facilitator?? Other students in the class tried to complain before, but were brushed off. After my compaint, my son is being victimized by the facilitator. I have paid over R36 000 for quality tutoring, not this! I am a bookkeeper and even I can't follow what she is trying to explain. This is hard-earned money for me as a single mother and now I have to pay for several re-write exams. With their last exam 9 students wrote the exam but only ONE passed! And just because this student is currently working as a bookkeeper.
