Making tenants pay for unnecessary maintanance

I stayed at Midrand Village for 2 years and and few months, and my stay was wonderful till the day I decided to move out of the rented houses.<br> <br> We did our best to keep the house in a good condition and never broke anything, and even cleaned the walls when we moved out.<br> <br> When the inspection was done, the noted a few arears where they said cleaning needs to be done, and a cote of paint was needed.<br> <br> We waited for our deposit and it never came, when i enquired i was informed that the cost to repair amounted to R4800, which is almost the entire deposit amount. I really dont understand why i am being charged to clean the unit, and worse they made sure the maintanance cost equals the deposit amount so that I do not get anything back.<br> <br> I curse the day i decided to stay at Midrand village and will never refer anyone to go and stay there, the deposit amount you pay, you will never receive it back, they will make sure of that.
