Crocs R24 Promotion – A Frustrating Waste of Time and Poor Customer Service

I am extremely disappointed with Crocs South Africa and the way its R24 Classic Clogs promotion was handled.

On the morning of the promotion, I logged in at 8:00 AM, added the clogs to my cart and proceeded to checkout. The website instructed me to wait one minute and not refresh the page. I followed the instructions and waited approximately 30 minutes, only to be kicked out and told that the shoes were sold out.

At 8:21 AM, I contacted Crocs' chatbot, Crocsy, for assistance and was told I would be transferred to a customer service agent. I waited for assistance, only to experience further delays. I was later promised a response within 24 hours, but that commitment was not met.

After several complaints, Crocs explained that more than 200,000 people were online at 8:00 AM, that stock was limited, and that customers were processed on a first-come, first-served basis. However, this did not address my concerns about the checkout experience or the lack of customer support.

What makes this even more frustrating is that Crocs ran the same R24 promotion again today, on 28 October, after I had already raised these concerns about the previous promotion. This leaves me questioning whether customer feedback is actually being taken seriously.

My complaint is not about being entitled to a pair of R24 shoes. It is about the time wasted, the unclear checkout process, the lack of timely assistance and the disappointing way the situation was handled.

I do not want another generic apology. I want companies to take responsibility for the customer experience they create. Crocs has seriously damaged my confidence in its brand, and I believe other customers should be aware of my experience.

A promotion should create excitement for customers, not leave them frustrated, waiting for hours and struggling to get answers.
