Councilor unable to re-issue the clearance certificate

I was placed under review years back and have paid up all my accounts. The Debt Councilor claims to have send be the clearance certificate in 2022, and I have never received it. I have been requesting the to re-issue and I was told it would cost around R400. They told me it would take 2 weeks, however. they never came back to me. Every time when I call they are rude, keep on repeating the same thing that they have sent the certificate. They have poor record keeping and I am still waiting. I made the request since early 2023 and till now, I am still under listed under Compuscan.

Greetings Mr Amos Sibeko,

According to our records, your debt review was successfully concluded with a court order, and a clearance certificate was issued in terms of The NCA to you on February 21, 2022.

Furthermore, our records indicate that following your clearance in February 2022, you successfully app**** for and received multiple loans. This suggests and proves that you were able to qualify for these new loan facilities due to your clearance status. These loans furthermore were obtained with a major bank who conducts in-depth affordability assessments with all bureaus.

Regarding your request for a reissued clearance certificate, please be advised that this process involves administrative costs amounting to R450 excluding VAT. This fee is necessary to cover the administrative expenses associated with reissuing the certificate.

It's important to note that in terms of the National Credit Act we are not obligated to issue clearance certificates on a biennial or triennial basis. We always encourage all our clients, including yourself, to keep their clearance certificates in a secure location as they are crucial documents. However, we cannot be held responsible for any loss of documents once they have been issued and clearance has been granted.

Regarding your concerns about the behavior of our staff, we take such matters seriously as you can see form our hundreds and hundreds of positive reviews. Could you kindly provide us with the specific date and exact time when you felt you were treated disrespectfully? We will investigate the matter thoroughly.

If you wish to proceed with obtaining a reissued clearance certificate, please don't hesitate to contact our offices, settle the low admin fee and we will attend to the reissue of the clearance which takes a couple of hours and not weeks as indicated in your complaint.
