Do not use Credit Intel for collections! They are dishonest, useless and a waste of money

I approached Credit Intel to collect on a debt of R115000. I was told during the sales period that a failure to pay by my debtor would lead to a legal stage, where he would be be served a summons. I insisted that any payment of less than 10% per month of the outstanding debt would not be acceptable to me. Now, a year later less than R2500 has been collected by them, my debt is still in the "pre-legal stage", a nice way of saying that they have done nothing but collect my monthly fee and their cut of the little money they have collected, and ignore my insistence that the "repayment schedule" was entirely unacceptable to me. Dealing with Credit Intel has been an absolute nightmare. It has cost me much more for their "service" than what they ever collected. They told my debtor that his payments of R1000 per month was acceptable, even after I told them that it was not acceptable to me at all. Their goal is to run down the clock and maximise their fees, not to help their clients. DO NOT USE THEM!

Reviewer Update
The expand, and make clear how extensively I have communicated with credit intel I would like to add that I spoke extensively with their CEO Carl Knight about my account in July. He agreed that the repayment amount should not be so low, and that this would not be accepted by their system. While he did not want to commit to a date he suggested that the legal phase of collections should begin in September. Now, in October, I am told that the legal stage would not be entered as they have reached a repayment settlement of R1000 per month with my debtor. I would never agree to such a low amount as I made clear to Carl and Sophia at Creditintel's accounts departments. They also refused to give me an indication how their system work saying simply that it was automated. My understanding is that automation is by design, so why not simply be transparent with your clients? Why say one thing when trying to make a sale, and constantly change your story in communicating the case. Why ignore the wishes of your client when arranging repayment. Would anyone accept a repayment schedule of less than 1% of the outstanding debt per month? Totally ridiculous and dishonest. I notice that some negative feedback on this site has been met with threats of litigation by creditintel, they should know that I keep full records of our correspondence where I explicitly stated that I do not agree to such a ridiculous repayment schedule. So frustrating, AVOID!
