International courier company cannot make delivery within 100km! CourierIt? Courier it NOT!

I ordered R2,500 worth of pet essential products from One Day Only on the 25th of November. 30 Nov I received an email to say it had been shipped, but by Tue 6th I had still not received it. I called Courier It (One Day Only's outsourced courier service) and was told that the parcel was scheduled for delivery on the 6th, but the driver, and I quote, "couldn't make it". No further explanation. I explained that I was in desperate need of the goods, and they assured me it would be delivered on Thursday the 9th. I re-confirmed my contact details with them and let them know I'd be home all day. Thursday came and went, NO delivery. I tried to call Courier it but was kept on hold for over 10 minutes before the line was cut off.

Monday, 12 Dec I called Courier it at 2pm, I spoke to Judy (Judith) who told me she would follow up and call me back in 10min... I AM STILL WAITING! Monday evening after 5pm I called again and spoke to an after-hours customer care consultant, who literally couldn't do anything more than tell me he couldn't do anything! What is the point of having people answer a phone if they cannot even assist! This morning I called again, only to find out Judy was unavailable, and she did not call me back.

I am utterly disgusted by the blatant apathy this company has towards clients. Having been on hold several times I can almost recite their telephone sales pitch word for word, but whilst they boast that they are internationally recognized and have so many branches nationwide, yet they cannot even handle getting a parcel from Cape Town to Herm****. Only 100km away!

I am caring for 7 rescue dogs in desperate need of tick & flea treatment. we do not have funds to go out and buy more and cannot wait 7-10 working days for a refund from ODO. Meanwhile CourierIt have been in possession of my goods for over a week! It is *********** companies like CourierIt that take all the joy out of the festive season. Shame on you!
