Courier IT accusing me of taking someone's package.

On Thursday 05/04/2018 I expected a package from Mr Price online. When my package came I signed and opened my package and moved on as it was my order.

On Monday 09/04/2018 I receive phone calls from all sorts of companies as to where another lady's package is. Extremely confused, I said I signed for my package, checked that it was my order and threw the paperwork away. Apparently on one of the papers that the courier delivery person brought, had another persons name on, but my things inside. I did not pick this up as I order online on a weekly basis and never cross-check every detail. Even the courier company said no one really reads everything.

So on Monday two delivery guys from courier it comes to my work insisting I took this lady's package. The more I explain that it was my things inside, the more they are not convinced and basically comes down to me keeping someone else's package.

All of this happened in front of all of my colleagues and carried on for at least 3 hours. I couldn't do any work and tried my best scrambling for video footage to show them that what I received was my package with what I ordered inside. It was degrading and very unprofessional in the way it was handled. Even the lady who's package was now missing came to my work unhappy and also thinking that I now kept her package that was coming from Amanzimtoti.

I received a phone call from Peggy from courier it stating that I do have the package, my signature was on it even though i tried to explain it was my things inside and i didn't notice the paper had another lady's name on as i get lots of parcels every week and this has never happened to me. She was extremely rude and I felt that I was now the ******** in the case paying from their mistake firstly for not having their paperwork in order when delivering.

No company actually stands and makes sure that its even the right person signing or cross referencing the ID etc for the delivery.

At about 3 o'clock I received a phone call from courier it saying that they have located the package. It was wrongfully delivered to a Postnet in Krugersdorp. I told them I am very unhappy with the way this was handled. They should have done their investigations first before insisting that I have the package. The two delivery guys that were here, Edgar and the other man were so confused. No one actually had a clue what was going on and basically all came down on me that this was my fault.

I am hence not in a good space at my work as I work in a very busy hospital with patient's coming in and out the whole day who also witnessed the whole fiasco. I lost a whole day's work trying to sort this out. My Dr's and HOD do not approve and stated it is unacceptable that this whole thing transpired in an open area which turned out to be a circus, which should be a professional environment.

This was a disgrace to my reputation. I feel violated from this company.
