My experience at Lion Pride Lifestyle Estate, developed by Central Development, has been deeply disappointing.

Despite the estate's claim of being "free of load shedding," it has caused significant electricity-related issues. Notably, a serious incident occurred due to a malfunction within the estate itself, unrelated to load-shedding. The boom gate granted me access with a green light, but the retractable spikes unexpectedly rose, causing damage to my vehicle's tires.

I made efforts to provide evidence of this incident, including video footage, but my attempts were met with no adequate response. Initially, the body corporate seemed willing to replace my damaged tires. However, when they realized the cost exceeded R20,000, they declined to authorize the expense and directed me to pursue an insurance claim.

Regrettably, my insurance provider also declined my claim, asserting that the incident was an "unforeseeable anomaly" beyond reasonable expectation or prevention.

What further compounds my disappointment is the information shared by the estate's security personnel, who reported recurring gate anomalies on various occasions. Despite these concerns, no substantial action was taken to rectify the issue.

In response to my complaint, the estate's directors cited disclaimers at the gates, placing the responsibility on owners to verify the status of the spikes before proceeding. However, I must emphasize that the gate malfunction occurred despite the green light signal, which, according to the gate's warning sign, indicated that the spikes were down.

I did not reverse my vehicle, and I strongly believe that the incident was not a result of a power outage but rather a malfunction within the gate system.

If you are considering purchasing property in this estate, please be aware of several concerning factors. The CCTV system seems more for show than practical use. Issues such as gate malfunctions are not promptly addressed, and insurance claims are not thoroughly investigated. It's also worth mentioning that it's doubtful whether this estate has fidelity insurance.

I'm disappointed that the estate has not shown willingness to help cover the cost of at least two of my damaged tires, considering that all four are in need of replacement. My hope is for a fair resolution and justice in this matter.
