Home buying Horror
As a 1st time home buyer I had a horrible experience with Cosmopolitan... I didnt have that excitement or happiness I think I was supposed to have when moving in.. jus sadness and regret.. I have a house in Milano SKY City.. I was introduced by Green eye who kept a distance just after the bank gave me a bond.. so they got their cut and left me to dry.. which I did.. still am.. I had to reach out and ask for feed back about the stage of the house. I never got much , one day I got jus a flash of a video of my house.as n update.. I decided then that I was going to follow up by myself.. During the building of the house there was no update of the project from Cosmopolitan either. I went to check by there offices n calls ,even though I was told it's such % to finish but there was no guarantee on when exactly I was going to move in.. In mid March.. I was called to come and get my keys .. I explained that it's mid month I can't pay for two places at the same time the person who gave me the key reassured me that there is no problem I can jus sign papers for the key I won't be paying that very same month.. When the 25th came, a debit oder was made for the bond... I paid my rent as well where I stayed for that month. The security estate charged me for that month jus for taking the keys..they didn'teven have my finger print for coming in n out but they wanted me to pay them . I raised a complaint apparently that's how the Milano Security works.. I became financially crippled jus before moving in to my new home.. My financial disaster started then.. until now. I have raised this complained with Cosmopolitan but I got my response that that's how they work they don't tell or prepare clients for moving in, you jus get called to get your keys and start paying.. In one of the mails a Cosmopolitan representative or employee responded (The client must jus pay pay her bond) One of the sales guys said, thats what happens when you choose another agency not them... (maybe if you advised better I was going to pick your advert rather than going to the 3rd party Green eye.. What a client service..
Then we moved inn to an even worse situation , water was/ is being sold by a third party, not the municipality, which was never discussed.. I remember buying water for more then R700 in 3weeks of occupation.. there were leakages from gears and some pipes .. I raised a complaint they were fixed but there was no refund for the wasted water from the leakages which were not my fault.. I complained about the ridiculous amounts of water that we paid a second meter was put to compare then the water suddenly dropped prices to R300plus which was reasonable.. I got a report that the water was being charged normally which I personally agreed then until the the 2ndmeter comparing meter was removed.. After the removal of that meter an email was sent asking to fix my meter... for wat I asked myself.. as they were here jus a month ago... it didn't make sense One of the days my water taps ran dry I had to put more money to buy water . After buying nothing came out for hours until I called for support/help.. which took hours as well they sent someone to come personally.. I learned the water was controlled by a computer as he was fixing.. Jus after fixing the problem I realized the water started charging differently from the last time.. the charges went sky high.. again I put a complaint.. automatically my water was reduced... to normal.. jus for a while... I'm getting tired of complaining.. I'm emotionally financially drained by Cosmopolitan.. What is the third party for in water? I got answer it's for security reasons but we are not the only estate .. A security can guard the people coming to read meters.. what is the securty for? I know someone at Lion pride it's a security estate they pay their water directly to the municipality .. I think there is free water that municipality gives.. I have never witnessed that here .. I think this is pure business jus to make more money from us .. Isn't selling houses enough? What a terrible experience..

I have tried your number several times. It rings and cuts off after a few rings.
The water billing system and meters have been addressed and tested at length.
The water is sold at the same price as those suburbs still being billed directly by the local council.
Per, our records, we did keep you updated throughout.
I have sent you all the correspondence at the various stages of agreed audit, testing, and checking tariffs.
Water is not sold by Cosmopolitan. The local council demanded in their conditions of establishment of property development (as advised to all residents) that water must be purchased through a third party. This is a requirement of the local council due to the culture of non-payment that our councils find themselves crippled by.
Most councils have stopped the practice of the first 6Kl free. Only indigent-declared households get this benefit now.
All unhappiness mentioned in your post has been dealt with on an individual query basis and concluded. I do understand that in some instances resolutions were not to your appea*****t, but these conclusions were governed by our policies and general business practices. Should there be any new issue that you are unhappy with, kindly contact me directly. Kind regards Isalina Barreto *** / ***
