BAD SERVICE EVER

Stand no: 1788 We very disappointed with the service we have been given. It's been 2 months since our agent said the house is on 99% and we just waiting for the keys. We thought we going to move in, in March and that didn't happen. Our agent told us that we going to move in, in April. We then filled a notice to move out at our current place. We renting and currently paying R5100. I called the head office 2 weeks back to find out what was the hold up and I was told that we will move in following week due to the Easter holidays. I called again last week and we were told we will move in before Friday. On Friday I called to find out when are we getting the keys because that was the last weekend of the month and we hoping to be moving. That's only when we were told that there was an issue with the electric meter. On that Friday we spoke to our landlord trying to cancel our notice of moving out and we were told that we can't as there is someone who already paid deposit and they moving in and on Saturday the person came to view the place. So today is Monday and we don't know our standing and were we will be staying by tomorrow as we supposed to be moving our belongings tomorrow.

If the meter is not fixed or sorted, what responsibility is cosmopolitan taking in this situation? Can we be provided with a temporary place? and if we paying for transport to move to that temporary place, who will pay for transport as we can't pay twice?. Or can we move in our house but don't sign anything till the electric meter issue is sorted?

I was told to speak to Francina who is the manager. She was so rude over the phone and didn't care. Now I'm homeless as I don't know were me and my 4 month old we will sleep as from tomorrow. I regret buying a house with cosmopolitan.

Summary Problem
I have received your post. Your are unhappy as you expected to move in this month end. Per your post you have no alternate accomodation.

Investigation:
There is a problem with the electric meter. There is no electric power supply to your house from the meter. We cannot handover keys to you until this has been resolved.

Action
Our Project Manager is aware. He has requested urgent assistance from council to check on the fault. Unfortuantely we cannot tamper with the meter.   Council is not prepared to commit to a date. As discussed I will take up with our director and head project maganger tomorrow am and give you feedback by 9:00 am.

Concluded:
As per progess over the last two days. My telephonic confirmation to you this morning:

We were able to move you in on the 30th April, pending resolution of replacement of the faulty electric meter. On the strength that council gauranteed replacement of the meter on 1 May, keys were handed over to you.

Council did install your new meter as undertaken. You confirm that the new meter is working smoothly.

We are happy that we were able to assist to get you into your house as soon as we were able to.  We apolgize for the stress you experienced on month end, but as discussed we must ensure that you will have electricity at your home before we can release keys. W

We are very happy that this issue was speedily resolved with the assistance of your local council.

Congratulations on your new house!

Kind regards
Isalina Barreto
