Bad investment move at Leopards Rest

I am utterly disgusted by the quality of Cosmopolitan houses and the manner in which Central development handles issues pertaining to remedial repairs.

Inspection of the house was performed on the 17th November 2018. There were a few snags that needed to be attended to before moving in, including connection of electricity by technicians. Subsequently, the electricity was connected and everything seemed to be working properly.

We occupied the house in December 2018, to our shock and horror there was no electricity in the house and the kitchen cupboard edgings had peeled off. Even though the electricity metre indicated that there are units that have not been consumed. As much as this matter was reported to Mathys and Tsholo(consultant), they distanced themselves. They told us that: "Any issues pertaining to electricity needs to be reported to the municipality because the maintenance team does not deal with electricity issues." We stayed a week without electricity before our logged call was attended to by the municipality. Electricity was switched on by the technician dispatched by the municipality however the meter keypad was switched off. The municipality is still dealing with resolving this issue. Fast forward to January 2019, to my dismay, my kitchen cupboards have not been fixed. Contrary to having filled out an emergency form more than a month ago. A team has not been dispatched to attend to the cupboards and other issues that have been piling up. All we keep hearing is "we will follow it up." Instead the dispatched team comes in to fix the geyser that was never reported and is not broken.

On Wednesday, 16 January 2019 a team was dispatched to my household and started working on the meter keypad that switched off and disconnected our electricity at the distribution box. A lady from Central Development by the name of Alda alleged that Mathys instructed the technician to disconnect us. After several attempts of contacting Alda, to send a technician to resolve the electricity disconnection issue. She blocked our calls and ignored our complaints. Even though the electricity got switched back on in the evening with assistance of Tsholo and Mathys. I still have unanswered questions..Why was my electricity disconnected without my knowledge? Why is the dispatched team assuming municipality's responsibility of dealing with electricity issues? Has the responsibility of the maintenance team since changed to dealing with electricity issues? Why is the dispatched team tampering with the db box? When will a team be dispatched to attend to the list of issues reported on the emergency forms requiring immediate action?

The behaviour being portrayed is demeaning to say the least. Once Cosmopolitan sells you the house , they no longer care about providing professional high quality customer service! The treatment received from Cosmopolitan has left a bad taste in the mouth.

Dear Client

Our log ref:  4895 Alb

I have received your post. There does seem to be contradictions in the various Cosmo staff manner on dealing with this electrical problem as opposed to the company policy.

I need to investigate.  I also need to check why our staff were not willing to assist you. I will call  you on my findings.

Also the process of cupboard repair, does not fall within our emergency team division, but in the after occupation inspection & repair team.
This team comes out (after booking appointment with you) after 3 months of key hand over. They repair and inspect for any problems that there may be that are not emergencies, eg cracks, cupboard repairs etc.

Emergencies are specific to water, electrical and structural issues. Being serious problems that may affect your safety, integrity of the structure and or financial loss.

I will be contacting you shortly.

Kind regards

The day the house was handover to us, we were informed that the inspection and repair team that comes after 3 months deals with settlement cracks. That being said, are you implying that my cupboards will only be fixed after 3 months of handover? It is not a pleasant sight walking into a house that has peeled off edgings hanging from kitchen cupboards.

Dear Isalina, Referring to your response above. A week has lapsed and your commitment has not been honoured. As per our conversation and email to me, you had assured me that an urgent carpenter will be arranged to attend to the unsightly cupboards. No communication has been made to notify me as to when a carpenter will be dispatched. Two different maintenance teams have popped by my house and promised to come fix the cupboards the following day. But the teams do not return the following day and the actual work never gets done. I have been tried contacting you several times, but no answer. It seems as if my cupboard issue has been swept underneath the carpet. It has been over a month now and I have been told the same story: "we will come tomorrow" or "we will follow it up". I honestly do not know what more steps Cosmospolitan needs me take for my cupboards to be fixed! From where I am standing *********** staff, providing poor customer services and not attending to after sales maintenance issues will be the downfall of Cosmopolitan.
