Violation of Personal Information

<p>Dear Coricraft</p> <p> </p> <p>Myself and my fiancé bought furniture from your Tyger Valley showroom during May 2016 (Sales Order J18748). We opted for the delivery to be done by Coricraft and although the invoice was issued to my fiancé I gave my cell phone number as the primary contact. Since then I have received numerous calls from Telkom, MTN and insurance companies looking to speak to my fiancé. I can thus only assume that our personal details have been "sold" by Coricraft as this is the only place I’ve ever listed my number under my fiancé’s' name. This must surely be against the POPI Act? Not to mention the extremely irritation it causes to receive +/- 5 calls a week from a sales call centre looking for my fiancé. My cell phone number and e-mail address are listed on the National Opt-out Database and it seems that Coricraft “sells” our personal information to companies which are not accredited by the Direct Marketing Association of SA. The generic “we are sorry for any inconvenience caused and we will remove your number from our database” answer does not solve the problem. As a “valued customer” I request you to contact me with an explanation and a viable solution/compensation.</p> <p> </p> <p>Regards</p>
