So called “Policies &Procedures” above customer service

The attitude of the staff at the Pinetown warehouse and the manager at the Ballito store leaves much to be desired. I purchased a couch from Corricraft and opted to fetch the couch from the warehouse. When I received a call to inform me that my couch was ready for collection, I responded that I would collect some time the following week. The lady pressed on for a specific day however I told her that I could not specify as I was not sure, when the bakkie will be available. She insisted on the day and I rep**** Wednesday. However I did mention that it might be earlier or later to which she responded that she just needed a date for the system. I got there today and they refused to assist, their response was that they needed to do a quality check. Surely this should have been done before calling customers to inform them that it is ready for collection!!! I am in the process of building a new home and recently bought an apartment in Ballito that I require furniture for however I will not be purchasing from Corricraft.

Dear Claire M,  Thank you for raising your concerns in regard to collecting your items from our Durban warehouse.   In our communications with you, we do state that the call centre will contact you to confirm a time for your collection.  This enables the warehouse to select your product and quality control it, ready for when you arrive.  As you can imagine, our warehouse staff are busy throughout the day getting all customer orders ready for various deliveries and collections – interruptions will therefore delay other customers too.   I hope you understand that our processes are put in place to ensure customer service, not to compromise it.  I note that you have now collected your items, and hope you are enjoying them in your new home. Yours in design, Ruth
