Poor Quality, Poor Service, Poor Customer Care

<p>We bought a bedset from Coricraft, Highveld Mall, Witbank in 2015. The legs supporting the centresupport beam broke within the first year resulting in damage to the beam, making it impossible to sleep on the bed. After a rather lengty process of emails, phonecalls and more phonecalls, the bed was finally replaced in Februarie 2016.</p> <p>In January 2017 the bed again broke in exactly the same fashion, obviously indicative of either poor design or inferior materials, or both. I have now again send numerous emails and made even more phonecalls. Coricraft even phoned and confirmed that an assessor would come to our house at 10:00 on Friday the 3rd of February, but no-one pitched. I phoned again and nobody had any idea of what I was talking about. I was promised by Coricraft that they would follow up and give feedback, but never did. Every single time I've tried to phone this week I've been told that the person in charge of this matter is currently busy, but that he/she would phone me back.</p> <p> </p> <p>This is not acceptable service from a company like Coricraft that markets themselves with the following: "For more than 20 years, Coricraft has been the easy choice for exceptional value on top-quality furniture" and "Because ultimately that’s what we are all about – bringing South Africa style, quality and value through a shopping experience that’s pleasant and easy."</p> <p> </p> <p>Regards</p> <p> </p> <p>PG</p>

Update 1 - 14/02/2017

Coricraft phoned on Thursday 09/02/2017 to arrange that a repair team come and fix the bed on Friday 10/02/2017. As no assessor was sent prior to the repair team they pitched up with the incorrect material to fix the bed! The repair foreman phoned the local Witbank branch and informed him of this. The manager would phone me back for alternative arrangements, to date Tuesday 14/02/2017 I have not heard anything from anyone! This is getting rather ridiculous!

Today is the 6th of March 2017, it has been more than a month since I last slept in a bed. Fixing of the bed never happened and Lewa contacted me about 3 weeks ago to inform me that the bed would replaced. I was further informed that I should, sooner rther than later, visit the Highveld Mall branch in Witbank, to choose a replacement bed. That was done more than 2 weeks ago and still no bed! Below is a copy of the email that was sent to several Coricraft emails this morning:

Good day Claudette

Could you or anybody from Coricraft please find the time in your busy schedules as Coricraft CUSTOMER RELATIONS staff, to contact me with regards to the situation of the King Crescent replacement.

This is simply ridiculous! I have been patient, but no more! It has been more than a month without a bed to sleep in!

I was contacted by Lewa(?) more than 3 weeks ago to go to the Witbank Highveld Store and pick a bed as the Crescent bed has been discontinued. I went there, spoke to the branch manager and picked a bed. That was more than 2 weeks ago! I have since Friday tried to reach Lewa, without success to follow-up regarding delivery. I eventually contacted the branch again. A lady there has been very professional and tried to assist, she couldn't get a hold of Lewa on either Friday nor Saturday. Now this morning she phones me back with feedback from Lewa, that I was supposed to pay in R3500.00 prior delivery.

What kind of company are you running?

Firstly there was NO communication in this regard, NONE! No phonecall, no sms, no email, no letter in the post, NOTHING! I drove the 50km return trip to the Highveld store, picked a bed, spoke with the manager, which rep**** that delivery would be arranged with Lewa and then NOTHING!

Secondly, Coricraft sells me a bed of inferior quality and now expects me to pay in a further R3500.00 in order to take back and exchange the poor quality bed with a hopefully better quality bed! Are you people serious? I paid money for a bed, the purpouse of which is to sleep in, within a year it was replaced, eventually, and now less than a year later it fails in exactly the same manner as the previous one! I paid for a bed, which failed twice and now because it has been discontinued it is expected of me to pay in another R3500.00! This after sleeping on couches and on the floor for more than a month! Do any of you understand what that is like? Sleeping on a couch or on the floor beside the bed that you paid money for! Like a broken statue, just standing there filling the space of my bedroom!

Enough is enough! I want another bed or my money back! In fact I want my money back for not only the bed, but the bedside tables too, as it was all bought as a set to complement each other! I must probably replace the mattress too, as it has been on the floor instead of the bed for more than a month now! Are you going to replace the mattress too, or does your bogus policies not cover collateral loss due to inferior quality products sold to the public under false advertising and false company values?

Coricraft has replaced the entire set, including the bedside tables. I have changed my rating to only a 3, as altough Coricraft did manage to sort out the issue, the overall experience, communiction and timeframe to close out the issue was not a good one.
