I WILL NEVER SHOP WITH CORICRAFT AGAIN - CANAL WALK IS A JOKE

I just want to start this off with saying that I have NEVER before received such terrible service from a company!! My order number is B66924 for a KODA 3 SEATER.

On 22nd Jan I visited the Canal Walk branch and saw that there was a sale on and decided on the KODA 3 SEATER. I immediately app**** for the 6 months store credit and my application was sent off the next day (23rd Jan) and was told it would take 24 hours. On 24 Jan I got an SMS from RCS (Coricraft's financial services) to say that my application couldn't be completed as there were documents missing. I called them immediately and the person who helped me said he just needed to confirm my address - WHY?? - and that I would hear back before the end of the day. I did not hear anything, so I called them the next morning, and they told me that I had not sent my PAYSLIPS through, which I absolutely did, and then the woman I spoke to on the phone told me they were in their inbox but had not been attached to my application. I called multiple times during the day, and eventually at 18:20 on Wed 25th Jan, I got the SMS to say my application had been approved and all I have to do is go to the nearest store with my ID and collect my card.

At about 8pm on Wednesday 25th Jan I arrived at the Canal Walk Coricraft and saw that the couch was still on sale (YAY!) only to be told they could not help me as they needed to call RCS to verify and RCS were now closed. I obviously freaked out - which helped nothing as they just stared at me. I could not return to the store the next day, as I was working till 8pm and still needed to get home to make dinner for my family.

Friday 27th Jan, I returned to Canal Walk at about 5pm to collect my Coricraft card only to find out that the KODA 3 SEATER was now sold out and everything we had been through was basically for nothing. JP was my sales assistant and at first I thought, WOW this person is so helpful, as he agreed to get me a couch from the JHB warehouse as they still had one. He swiped my card for R7491 which included delivery and Scotch guarding, and said the couch would take MAXIMUM 10 working days to be sent down from JHB and that it would be delivered by LATEST 10th Feb , and that he would call them to make sure that they definitely had one, and if I didnt hear from him I should assume that everything was on track. I went home feeling that Coricraft had really redeemed themselves.

THIS WAS MY FIRST MISTAKE. By the 9th of Feb (10 full working days later) I had not heard anything back, so I called Coricraft Canal Walk, only to be told by JP that it shows that the couch is on back order and that means it's on it's way, but that my query would be sent to Natalie at the Cape Town head office who would assist me further. I did not hear from her.

Saturday 11th Feb: Spoke to JP at Canal Walk, who made big promises about getting back to me, but sorry for the delay as JHB was having stock take, and Canal Walk would be having stock take on Monday & Tuesday so things were a bit hectic. He assured me that the couch was in Cape Town but had not been booked in so delivery has not been scheduled. He promised me he would send my query off to Natalie again, and that she would get back to me.

Monday 13th Feb: Spoke to JP again, who promised to find out and call me back shortly, and he never called me back. I thought, okay stock take is hectic and I know coz I also work in retail, so I gave them till Wednesday. I still did not hear anything back.

Thursday 16th Feb: I call Canal Walk who tell me AGAIN that the couch is in Cape Town but has not as yet been booked in so delivery hasn't been scheduled. I asked for Natalie's number so I could call her myself and she told me that she had NEVER received any query regarding this order since day one, but she can see that the couch was sent down from JHB on 8th February which was already a MASSIVE delay.

Friday 17th Feb: I received a call from Natalie this morning who said she just heard back from Johannesburg that the couch was NEVER sent from their warehouse AS THERE WAS NO COUCH IN THE WAREHOUSE in the first place and that the couch will now have to be made up, and that I SHOULD receive it by the first week of MARCH.

What the hell kind of service is this? From day one all I have had from Coricraft is LIE after LIE. I have read complaint after complaint on here as well as on Facebook and I cannot fathom why ANYONE would do business with your company. Natalie is literally the only person who has been helpful and I feel bad for her that she has to work for such a terrible company and deal with the incompetence of her colleagues on a daily basis. I am even doubtful that I will EVER receive this couch!!!
