Faulty Lodge Couch- Unhappy customer

Workmanship and Quality of my brand new Lodge Leather couch is unacceptable. My after sales experience has also been dismal. I've complained directly to the sales person and written a complaint just 4 days after receiving my couch, which already has sinking seats and certain parts of the couch have been wrapped in a variation of old worn looking leather, its like they mixed in segments with the new leather they show you instore. The sales person rather blatantly said I cannot get a refund even after i sent her photos.

I am mortified that this item has been QC passed and for the price paid, it is alarming to already see such flaws surface. Whats more disappointing, is that no response has yet been received from the Coricraft group. Consumers should be wary of the quality when buying a Coricraft product. I have been supp**** a Faulty item and I believe that I should be fully refunded. How much worse will the sinking seats get within a month I'm afraid to find out.

Dear Padmaloshnee,

We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with us.

We are so sorry that you are disappointed with your new couch. We have booked an assessment to ensure that the couch meets our specifications.

Regarding the concerns you've raised, we want to clarify that the foam used in our couches can initially feel firm but will soften up to 30% within the first three months of use. This is a normal process, and the foam will stabilize at that softness thereafter.

Additionally, the leather you purchased is an aniline leather, which means it retains all the natural characteristics of the animals it was sourced from. This includes wrinkles, scars, and colour variations, which are inherent to aniline leather and are part of its unique charm and beauty.

You’re welcome to contact us directly by emailing us at *** or calling us at *** so that we can assist you quickly.

Yours in design,
Ruth

Good morning Ruth Thank you for finally choosing to reply to my complaint. I appreciate that Coricraft Group is sending an assessor however I believe that Coricraft Group has misrepresented both the leather as well as the firmness of the couch instore in both the demo leather sample and demo couch. The firmness of the demo instore is not reflected in the couch that I have received. What you suggest is “softening” within 3 months of use, is inconsistent/ inadequate packing of foam within the seats. My major concern is that the sinking observed in just 4 days after delivery has worsened after 2 weeks. This couch is meant to be a long-term investment, I do not believe it will sustain firmness in the long run.

Hi Ruth, the couch was collected and refund processed.

When I opted to receive a refund, the expectation as a consumer who has complained within 7 days of receiving my couch was to receive a full refund, not a partial one. Please can this matter be escalated.
