Damaged couch

I ordered a couch from you that was supposed to be delivered on 05.10.2022 but because of bad communication was only delivered on 06.10.2022, which means I had to take two days leave. On opening the couch I saw that it was damaged and had marks on (see attached photos). I had a freak accident with coffee on couch and then noticed couch was not Scothguarded that I paid for. I went back to the store and laid a complaint, they said they could not do anything but, will send complaint with photos through to head office. I told them they must pls tell head office I am only available from 17:00 weekdays and weekends. Head office phoned and a Dougie arranged to come out the Saturday, the Thursday he phoned me and said he is not going to come I must just send him the photos. After sending the photo the Warehouse contacted me and wanted to arrange for collection to "CLEAN" the couch, I told them I dont know I they want to "CLEAN" damage. I went back to store as I feel I bought the couch from them and they need to sort it out, and I cannot be on my phone the whole day to sort Coricraft mess out as I am at work. They went onto the system to see what was going on and said that Dougie said he came out on the 11 to look at the damaged which is totally untrue as he only contacted me for the first time on the 13.10.2022, so he is even lying for the Head office. My mom contacted the head office on 19.10.2022 and again they only wanted to arrange pick up to clean. This is totally unacceptable I bought and paid for a new couch and got a damaged couch. Why must I be inconvenient being without a couch for two weeks because of Coricrafts poor workmanship.

I would like to know what coricraft is going to do about the situation without me having to take leave AGAIN.

I did not pay for a damaged couch, I paid for a couch that was 100% clean and in a perfect condition.

Dear Chante B,

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your experience; we are so sorry your beautiful Coricraft arrived in a less than perfect condition.

We have checked our records, job card and final quality control report, and can confirm that your couch was Coriguarded in our factory.  Please remember that hot liquids penetrate the fabric fibres, even if Coriguarded, much quicker than cold liquids, and spills should be cleaned immediately.  However, we are certain that we can remove any trace of the accident, which is why we don’t think a couch exchange is necessary yet.

As per our telephone discussion, we have arranged to collect your couch for a full clean and re-application of the Coriguard.   We will check for any physical damages to the couch at the same time, and resolve them.

We are certain that you will love your couch once it has been returned to you in perfect condition.

In future you’re welcome to contact us directly by emailing us on *** or calling us on *** so that we can assist you quickly.

Yours in design,
Ruth
