Customers; please do not disturb us

Visited Coricraft the Glen to look at their couch selection and I saw exactly what I wanted. The couch also had a red and black SALE sign on it saying less 20% (maybe 25% or 30% even I cannot recall now after my experience). I enquired with one of the sales lady about it and I then asked her about a color that I would like.
The sales lady went off and spent a few seconds, she didn’t even sit down in front of the computer (I was watching her seeing her lack of wanting to assist me when I first asked for help) came back and said ‘there is no stock’. I asked if there is no stock how can it be on sale. I asked her to take my phone number and to please look carefully for one and let me know. The sales lady rep**** that she didn’t want my number because she knows there are none available. Needless to say I walked out very disgruntled
Coricraft put up sale signs only to entice people into their stores and then provide weak excuses about why you cannot purchase at sale prices. It is not surprising that the shocking level of service, lack of understanding what an attached SALE sign on an item means as well as the rudeness of refusing a customer’s telephone number is what happened to me. The SALE signs are false advertising!
I sent through a message on Thursday to the Coricraft website, under contact us, to explain what had happened to me being a potential customer. I asked for somebody to contact me soonest so that I could explain the bad experience. Needless to say there was absolutely no response. I also sent through a message to the compliments and complaints email address again with no response. On the Monday I phoned and explained to the lady what had happened at one of the Coricraft stores. She said she would get someone to contact me soonest. On the Wednesday I got a phone call apologizing for what I had been subjected to and told that is not how they operate. I was asked if they could send me a quote for the couch I was looking for. I received the quote and they had discounted the couch by a measly 8%. Clearly the explanation of the sale ticket being displayed of 20% (maybe 25% or 30%) fell on deaf ears as that was one of the false advertising issues I encountered. I was also told that they needed 50% down payment if I wanted the couch – after my experience with Coricraft immediately tells me they do not trust their potential customers either and this is from their head office.
All this shows me that the Coricraft method of operating and dealing with customers is just plain wrong!!!!! The price you see on an item (or range of items) unless clearly stated, is the price you pay which is normal business practice but not at Coricraft so future customers be very aware.
One thing is for sure that this was not the first time it had happened. Coricraft does not understand that a customer who complains is not a problem, they will learn that the customer who never comes back is the real problem. Clearly they do not understand that they can only assist a potential customer that walks into their store, customers pay their salaries. Dealing with customers like this plans their demise. A quick quote from compliments and complaints with a measly 8% discount does not make the problem go away. It’s not doing me a favor either. Ever noticed how quiet Coricraft stores are? Even more concerning is that when a customer purchases their product, a portion of the money is being paid to people giving bad customer service.
Coricraft blatantly chose to turn down the opportunity for a R30,000 sale. Their compliments and complaints department clearly do not understand their role. There is a regional manager that’s going to contact me – let’s see. Retailers including Coricraft forget the “if you happy tell your family and friends; If you unhappy tell me”. The time I spent to provide them information to help their business way exceeds the money I was prepared to spend in their store. With some thought they may understand the contents of this review – who knows

Good afternoon
Apologies for the poor service received, we certainly don't subscribe to the bate and switch principle. The campaign was built around stock held at our distribution centres and as stock dwindled we did have instances of stock outs. In terms of the service received its completely unacceptable. In these tough times we should be doing every thing humanly possible with regards to assisting our clients. Managers also have leeway to make a call so this could and should have been resolved there and then.
Let me know how your visit goes this weekend and shout if you require any additional assistance.
