Coricraft Clowns
I have a history of buying furniture from Coricraft because I really like the style and build quality. After my experience this weekend though, I think that I will be taking my business elsewhere.
I had a Clan Desk unit delivered to my house with a chair and the delivery staff were kind enough to offer to put it all together for me, which is what I expect when I buy from Coricraft. He asked me to sign the proof of delivery document while they did that...sneaky, sneaky. No sooner had they started when the delivery guy said that they needed to get something from the hardware which I thought was a little odd as they would surely have everything they need to do the job.
I asked the guy how long they would be and they assured me that they were just popping to the center across the street to get what they needed. After 2 hours had passed I called the guy to ask if he was coming back and he assured me he was but not before 1pm...strange, so obviously they were out doing other deliveries and not getting the hardware previously referred to. I expected that meant that he would get back closer to 2pm, which was cutting things fine as I had a Zoom meeting scheduled for 3pm and aside from wanting to use the desk this meant waiting for their return.
By 2pm I was starting to become concerned and called the guy several times, about every 30 minutes or so as I understand that they could be offloading and unable to take my call right then. Each time I was sent straight to voicemail because he was rejecting my calls. By 4pm I had given up on having a happy resolution to the situation and went to where the desk lay in pieces in the room. Going through the drawers for less than 30 seconds yielded success as I found a small packet with the necessary *****s and allen key to do the assembly, with instructions to boot.
Here I had been sitting the whole afternoon thinking that I was stuck with a fairly expensive piece of furniture that could not be assembled only to find that someone just wasn't in the mood that day. It was Saturday after all and I'm sure he had places to be and I certainly wasn't going to bump into him because I was sat at home in blissful ignorance thinking i could not leave as they would be back any minute.
Anyway, I assembled the desk myself, which I would have done anyway if the guy just said he couldn't be bothered to. Instead what I had was a wasted afternoon, a missed meeting and pretty dismal start to my weekend.
Thanks Coricraft, see you again never.
