BAD product from Corricraft

Good day In December 2017 I bought 2 x dubble seater (Titanic) couches from Corricraft at the Garden Route Mall in George. I visited the shop in George Mall in June 2019 to get some clarity about the material (it is full of fluff ***** (pilling). The couches is not even 2 years old and it is covered with throws, so there was not even sat on the material. Juan’s answer to me was to get cellotape and tape the pilling! (I mean really?) He then asked me to mail some photos, which I did on 08.07.2019. He would send it then to Headoffice to log a complain. Hanno Lubbe (***), I don’t know from which shop he is said that there is a 2 year warrantee on fabric and stitching. On 18.07.2019 I asked Juan if there was any feedback from head office. I quote their feedback: "Unfortunately we never had problems with Thuli fabric pilling. This is wear and tear. Customer will have to get a pilling machine (fluff shaver) and shave the pilling off. We don’t guarantee our fabric and this is already 2 years old." Wear and tear???How is it even possible if it is covered. Then it must be cheap fabric?? What do they take me for???? It was a slap in my face! My previous couches was much cheaper and almost 10 years old with not even a scratch on? Now, firstly I was told that there is a 2 year warrantee on fabric, according to H/O there is not. According to H/O the couches is already 2 years old, so somebody can’t calculate. According to my calculations it will be 2 years in December 2019. I saved for quite a while to buy these couches, mainly because, according to their advertising Corricraft’s service and products is the best! I tend to disagree on that subject. It seems as if Corricraft’s products, guarantees and advertising is after all NOT that good!

Regards Nadia

Dear Nadia J,

The Thuli fabric is a Polyester and some pilling may occur on the touch areas of the couch. This can be made worse by another polyester fabric such as your throw rubbing against it . Pilling is not a sign that the fabric is defective but it can look ugly, a fluff shaver will remove the pills and your fabric will look perfect once again. Please google pilling on fabric or visit this link https://www.furnitureacademy.com/fabric-pilling-causes-treatment-prevention/

We want you to love your purchase , what we can do is arrange for someone to come out and fluff shave it for you . Please let me know if I should arrange this .

Kind regards,

you clearly don't understand!I did not pay that kind of money for couches to buy a shaver and shave the pilling from my couches. What about the areas that is NOT covered by the throw?
For that kind of money I really do expect better quality!

I understand that you paid a lot of money for your couch but this is not a defect , The fabric is really a good one, It has a 40 000 rub count which is good for even hotel furniture . Let me know if you want us to come out to you ?

To do what???To do the shaving yourself?
This is clearly going nowhere, I guess I have to be stuck with 2 couches which look like it is 20 years old! but i will assure you, NEVER will i ever buy anything from your store ever again!
