Apalled with Coricraft ....leather couches that fade in 4 weeks from navy to grey

To whom it may concern !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please explain to me how Coricraft is selling a couch that apparently is navy blue in the store and changes to a grey in 4 weeks According to Olga de Pinho and Eugene Pelser, this is normal. This couch is still at you Fourways store to you to view, and tell me that you will pay 32k for that and still keep it in your house and also accept the feedback below.....

You should market it as a “ MAGIC COUCH “ buy it in navy and it changes colour once left in normal light. Who buys a couch to keep it locked up in a dark room.????????? if left in a normal house with windows, it changes to a faded grey. ?????????????

I have been to many of your Coricraft stores and I have never seen any signs advising this to clients, or heard anything so ludicrous.

I have spent months looking around for couches, in the beginning of July I spotted the KOBI couch in your Fourways Store, I loved it for the design, comfort and the unique colour, Columbian Blue, which is a navy blue, that was the colour of the couch which I saw and ordered, a 2 seater and a 3 seater. We were told to expect delivery in 4-6 weeks. The couches were ready in 4 weeks. When my husband went to the store on the 28 July to pay the balance he noticed that the couch looked a different colour but was told that the couch was scotch guarded.

We picked up the couches on the 30th July and it was the colour we ordered – Columbian Navy ----happiness.

On the 3rd August we visited the Fourways store and I was surprised to see that the couch in the store was no longer Navy , but instead grey, looked like an old, dusty grey couch. When I asked the Manager , Johan he was not too sure himself if that was normal. I found it hard to believe that this was the same couch. This triggered alarm bells for my husband and I as we were disappointed to think that we had just paid 32k for couches that would look so bad after 4 weeks. We asked Johan to investigate this and get back to us and we were not happy with this. We sent pictures of the couch that we took on the day when we ordered it to Johan to show him what we were referring to. There was also a mark on the couch and a tear on one of the cushions which is on one of the seats, which Coricraft was supposed to send an assessor out to view, GUESS WHAT ................not done either !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! needless to say that my couches which are kept in a normal house , with windows is starting to fade.

Johan emailed Olga pictures to Olga and as per attached email, he had her beg her for feedback, only to received her snotty, care a **** attitude back on email. I asked Johan to send me her email so that I could try and understand what she was saying about the fading process, expecting a more detailed reply, only to find an unprofessional reply.

I phoned Olga and was told the same thing in a very don’t care attitude and abrupt tone, which I did not appreciate. I then also called Eugene Pelser and he repeated the same story. While on the phone with Eugene, Olga then emails Johan, talking about me, and then tries to recall the email..........how unprofessional is that ???????????????????? (ALL THIS IS ATTACHED) along with my refund form.

I have no words to explain my disgust with this entire experience with CORICRAFT. There is no empathy, no want to help attitude, no ownership, its almost as if your staff feel like they are doing us a favour..............I am sitting here wondering whether I am the only customer feeling this way or have received this treatment, or is this the norm ? I have requested a full refund and I want Coricraft to come and pick up the couches once my money is back in my account ,I don’t wish to purchase another couch from you.

Regards

Michelle

Tel : ********** 120

As I tried to explain to you on the telephone the aniline leathers have no protective coating and will fade to some extent. The showrooms have very harsh lighting and the fading seems a bit excessive. Our supplier is looking into the rate of fade.

I suggested that you look at a different leather which has a protective coating which would remain the same colour with very little chance of fading. Unfortunately this is not what you wanted to hear . All aniline leathers will develop their own patina and take on the life of the room that they are in .

We want all of our customers to be happy with their purchase and try our best to give them all the information so that they can make an informed decision on the best type of leather for their home.

We will refund you as per our procedure , we have space to collect on Monday afternoon, we will process the refund EFT once we are in possession of the stock . Our system doesnt allow for a refund unless the stock has been credited back .

Kind regards,

Olga de Pinho
