Cool Ideas ******ing existing customers

As a existing customer of Coolideas having been loyal and referring multiple people. after 4 years I needed to move premises. i submit a request via the customer portal to move my FTTH services. both the current premises and new premises are with Openserve and have existing termination points, thus only needs a port configuration at the new premises, Their process and business model to ensure existing customers sign themselves in for at least 12 months is to have you cancel your services with them and sign up as a new customer, thus having to either sign a 12 month agreement to get the R2700 "line installation fee" waived or pay R999 for the "line installation" if you want to stay month to month. even after a lengthy explanation of why I disagree with this as there is an existing line and termination point and it would only be a 5 min port configuration I was told by their junior and senior customer service agents that "this is the process" I find this hard to believe that they cannot migrate my service instead of running a cancellation and having to sign up as a new customer. this is clearly a way of locking in customers to secure their revenue which i find highly ********* and acting in bad faith. This is an easy way to ensure once you are signed up they can give you the worst possible service and you cannot leave or have to pay R2700 fee for cancelling.

Good day Tiaan

We are sorry to hear of this frustration

We are investigating the sequence of events and once we have further feedback we will be able to post a response on the way forward, with regards to moving premises we do require a cancellation notice of the old property to avoid both yourself and us as the ISP being double billed by the FNO system something that we communicate to our customers when they initiate a move request.

with regards to your comment about signing  a customer up to provide the worse service, we have reviewed your history of support tickets and only find an 1 issue 2 months ago regarding packet loss whic was resolved and prior to this very limited interaction with our support team, if you find our service to be less than satisfactory in future you are welcome to email complaints @ cool ideas . co .za and the relevant departmental manager will be alerted to this as we appreciate all feedback from our customer base

Good Day

My main concern and ask is that I do not have to as an existing customer sign up to a 12 month contract, if there was not an existing termination point at the property I would fully understand the costs involved to install one, but this is merely a configuration of a port and I have to pay the same cost or sign a 12 month agreement like a new customer. I also retain a router that is nearly 4 years old.

Good day Tiaan

we have introduced the two new options for re-sign up, the offers our team have mentioned are the best ways forward as we are applying this across the board for any new premises and we do not mean to inconvenience you.

Should you wish to discuss the above mentioned points further please do email complaints @ cool ideas . co .za
